4th Amendment

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seizeders, and effects.

Facts About the Fourth Amendment

Amendment Four is all about how the goverment should not be able to go into someone house, without a search warrent or a written document.   This amendment also says that the goverment can't walk in your house because they have a suspicion about what your doing.  You don't have to let them in if they don't have a search warrent.  A search warrent is a warrent that allow the goverment to enter your house.  To get this search warrent the goverment must get permission from a judge.  The amendment was ratified in 1791 and is part of the Bill of Rights.

The Importance of the 4th Amendment


The 4th Amendment has many importances.  The first importance of this amendment is that the goverment can't enter your house. This keeps our home private. Another importance of this amendment is that if a person from the goverment comes to your house without a search warrent, then you don't have to let them in because they can't search your house. This amendment keeps random people out of your house. These reasons are why this amendment was put in place.
